Asian Geos, a Java Offshore Company, has been awarded a full-scale Geophysical and Geotechnical Campaign in Myanmar through a contract with TOTAL Myanmar for Kanbauk LNG Terminal 4. This entry marks a new beginning of Asian Geos’s return to Myanmar since 2012.
The Campaign will be completed in four phases, comprising of an end-to-end offshore geophysical survey, nearshore geotechnical investigation, as well as an additional scope to perform geophysical survey and water analysis at River Heinze for engineering design purposes. To successfully complete the extensive scope of work, our team will have to navigate a challenging route whilst deploying multiple survey and geotechnical equipment due to shallow water depths.
Phase 1 of the Campaign has commenced with our vessel, Java Insignia, leading the geophysical survey. At the same time, a shallow draft survey vessel shall be used to perform the river survey and water analysis whilst a Landing Craft Tank (LCT) will be readied for nearshore geotechnical exploration.
In line with Java Offshore’s vision to build a sustainable presence in the Indochina region, we have a new recruit, Ms Khine Zar Moe, joining us as our Myanmar Country Business Manager.
“Being a New Market Entry Exercise for Java Offshore into Myanmar, her key role will be to assess the current local market potential and determine future opportunities for the Group within Myanmar,” says Rizal Shah, Java Offshore’s President.
