KEMAMAN, 14TH DECEMBER 2013 – AG dispatched a team of 15 volunteers among its KL-based staff to Kuantan and Kemaman, where the areas were severely affected by the recent floods in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

The team went there in company’s own vehicles carrying with them selected goods including rice-sacks, instant food, biscuits, snacks, clothes, together with baby diapers and cleaning utensils.

Top priority was given to AG’s own personnel whose houses were inundated for over the period of four days.

AG’s Operations Manager Mohd Idzham who led the 15-strong team reported, “After a four hour journey from Kuala Lumpur, we reached Kemaman where three of our staff Zamberi Hassan (Rig Mechanic), Hairi Zaki (Safety Officer), Asnoor Rezal Abdullah (Senior CPT Technician) and Jefri Jusoh (CPT Technician) are staying.

The donated items were distributed smoothly to our affected staff members. We have also been informed that others living in the same neighbourhood have been receiving some kind of help and assistance from various organisations and individuals.”

He further said, “We did not only distributed gives and donations to our very own employees but also handed over essential goodies which included clothings and cooking utensils to a flood relief centre situated at Sekolah Agama Al-Amin in Taman Geliga, Kemaman. This flood relief centre is managed by an NGO body called IKRAM and they have been managing the distribution of relief goods donations.”

Having completed the mission in Kemaman, the AG flood relief team then headed of to Kuantan to visit AG staff whom were affected by the floods there.
“In Kuantan, we visited the affected houses of Mohd Shukri (Surveyor), Siti Hasnidar (Surveyor) and Habil Hafidz (Senior CPT Technician). We listened to their stories and other flood victims, of the devastation that they had suffered due to the flood.” It was quite an unforgettable experience for us involved in this CSR initiative that is fully supported by the top management of AG, and it’s all worth it”, Idzham concluded.
